About Cherrie Chung

Cherrie takes a holistic perspective to wellbeing and therapy. Drawing upon a range of therapeutic approaches, her focus as a psychotherapist is on authentically and effectively meeting each client’s individual needs. She incorporates elements from cognitive behavioural therapies, analytical and psychodynamic psychology, existential therapy, trauma-informed therapies as well as EMDR into her therapeutic practice. She has particular interest in understanding our unconscious patterns, dream interpretation, and the connection between our body and mind in order to become integrated and at ease with ourselves and the world. Her clinical practice sees both individuals and couples.

Cherrie balances her clinical work with conducting workshops as a lively and interactive way to raise awareness and build skills about mental health and wellbeing. She enjoys working with organisations and utilising the collective power of the group to build connections and communities.

Cherrie was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Canada. She was educated in the UK and US where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Goldsmiths, University of London and Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University’s School of Medicine. She has a certification from The Couples Institute and is a certified EMDR therapist with EMDR HK.
